As of today, I, like many other people in this world, have taken the leap and bought an external monitor. More and more have I noticed that a 13” screen is just not working. Thus I bought the monitor, but I’ll review that another time.
To complete my new desktop set I bought Apple’s magic keyboard. It comes in at around R1879 ($99). Yes, that may be quite steep for us who live in South Africa, but I reckon it was quite worth it. Apple’s keyboard is similar to its predecessor, Apple’s wireless keyboard. Yet there is 1 major difference, with a few minor ones I’ll be covering later. The magic keyboard comes with a rechargeable battery built in, meaning that there is no need for those batteries that seem to be an endless item on all of our grocery lists. A 2-hour charge can probably last you at least a month. Although Apple hasn't revolutionized the keyboard, they have improved the build quality a bit more. The keyboard still uses the same old scissor mechanism, not the new butterfly mechanism found on most if the new Macbooks. Although this mechanism has been improved from the old keyboard. The keys are quite a bit more stable, meaning more accurate typing. Fewer typos! The keys are also concave so your fingers feel just a bit more at home. All in all the overall finishes really make it worth spending the amount of money. The glossy bottom with the imprinted apple logo, the stainless steel finish, the premium packaging and the portability (Let me just mention that this can also be used on other devices as it is Bluetooth) really make for a great keyboard. I highly recommend this keyboard to any Apple lover - or actually anyone that is looking for a great keyboard to spend many hours working.

The iPad Pro 12,9” is one of the best Apple devices I have owned. Not only does it pack amazing processing speeds but it also is excellently sized to make daily tasks easier to do.
Contrary to what most people say the iPad's large display is quite useful. App developers make great use of the iPad's screen real estate making the everyday use of apps much easier than before. The large 12,9" display also allows for a new view, split-screen view. The larger display allows for more of an app to be viewed in split screen, imagine two iPad Mini's side by side with different apps open. With the resolution being 2732 x 2048 at 264 ppi, images and text appear much crisper than earlier iPad models. Although the 12,9" does not sport Apple's new True Tone Display Technology, such as the 9,7" model, it makes up for it in screen-real-estate Sandton City is one of my favourite places to shop. But Sandton doesn't only house some of the worlds biggest brands, they also have a few stunning restaurants, from Wangthai to the Hard Rock Café.
Mythos is a Greek restaurant situated in South Africa’s Cradlestone Mall. They offer meze or full portions on their menu. They have a lovely relaxed atmosphere which feels clean and spacious. It almost felt tropical. Once we ordered it took about 5 minutes for the food to come - impressively fast service!
I had the “Prawn Mania” which was prawns grilled to perfection with lemon butter sauce on the side. I had this with a side order of oven roasted potatoes. These to were lemony and soft. I highly recommend this dish and side order. The service was great, the food was lovely, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who feels like a “tropical lunch”. During my stay in Clarens we stayed at the Protea Hotel.

Clarence is a small town situated at the foothills of the Maluti mountains. Gosto is a Portuguese restaurant in Clarence. This restaurant has a spacious open plan layout. I just had a main course, which was the sole. It came with half chips & rice, a side salad and lemon butter sauce. There were 2 pieces of sole which were tender and crispy. It was a nice portion size. I rate this restaurant a 8/10 as the food was lovely and the dining experience and service was brilliant as well. This is a lovely restaurant to go to for a lunch or dinner. Booking is essential.
The Waffle House. Quite a self-explanatory name. They serve a variety of sweet and savoury waffles. If you’re looking for decadent – this is your place! They are quite “with the times” as they use tablets to take one’s order. Their servers have an ethnic look to their uniform.

from the AuthorOver the past few years I have found it harder and harder to find quality reviews about products and great places to dine. So I took matters into my own hands and started this website. I hope you find what you are looking for. Archives
